CCTV footage from the hospital captured the gangsters pulling out their guns, loading them, opening the cabin door, and then fleeing the scene after killing Chandan Mishra. In a statement released by Bihar Police, officials said they conducted a thorough investigation based on technical analysis, reviewed CCTV footage, gathered human intelligence, and explored all possible leads to identify and track down the accused.

"In this sequence, in a joint operation, with the help of Kolkata Police and Kolkata STF, the main accused Taushif alias Badshah has been arrested from Kolkata. Along with this, Nishu Khan and 02 others have also been arrested," the statement read.

"Initial investigation has revealed that the conspiracy to commit this murder was hatched at Nishu Khan's residence and the incident was mainly carried out by Taushif alias Badshah," it added.

Police have stated that the interrogation of other suspects in connection with the Paras Hospital murder case is ongoing. Efforts are also underway to bring all the detained individuals to Patna through due legal process.

The case has added fuel to an already intensifying political storm in Bihar, as the state heads into election season. A recent spate of high-profile killings, including businessman Gopal Khemka, BJP leader Surendra Kewat, and lawyer Jitendra Mahato, has raised serious concerns about the worsening law and order situation.

With polls just months away, these murders have become a major flashpoint between the ruling JDU-BJP coalition and the Opposition RJD. While the RJD has slammed the government for its failure to control rising crime, the ruling alliance has hit back, accusing the Opposition of politicising the issue and creating panic, even as public concern over safety and accountability continues to mount.
