The TDP-led coalition achieved a landslide victory in the May 13 Assembly elections, winning 164 seats. The TDP secured 135 seats, while the JSP won all 21 seats it contested, and the BJP won eight out of the 10 seats it contested. The incumbent Jagan Mohan’s YSR Congress Party was limited to just 11 seats.
In response to police and intelligence reports indicating potential clashes between opposition YSRCP cadres and celebrating TDP-JSP-BJP workers on the swearing-in day, Naidu has urged his party members to exercise restraint and avoid any violence. Police have increased their presence in sensitive areas to ensure peace.
Additionally, the Andhra Pradesh government has ordered the removal of photographs of former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and former ministers from all state government websites.
Meanwhile, the BJP-led NDA has supported Narendra Modi as PM-designate for a third consecutive term, and the swearing-in ceremony of the Modi 3.0 cabinet is scheduled for today evening at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Several foreign dignitaries including Maldives President Muizzu, Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Haseena, and others are set to attend the grand ceremony.
Along with Narendra Modi as Prime Minister, several big names are set to take oath as council of ministers.
