In separate news, Chennai city police arrested a 17-year-old boy for making a bomb threat to Koyambedu Metro Rail station. The threat call was received on September 5 at around 5:45 pm when the caller contacted the Metro women’s helpline and claimed a bomb was planted on a train before abruptly hanging up. CMRL staff, along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, inspected trains and stations, confirming it was a hoax. Services continued without disruption, but security was heightened across entry and exit points. Police traced the caller to Kallakurichi and seized his mobile. He was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.
