Chennai Power Cut August 14: Several parts of Chennai will face a power outage on Thursday, August 14, 2025, as the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) carries out maintenance work. The supply will be cut from 9 AM to 2 PM and may be restored earlier if the work is completed ahead of schedule.

In Kilpauk, the affected streets include Medavakkam Tank Road, Secretariat Colony (1st to 3rd Street), AK Samy 5th, 6th, and 9th Streets, Divan Bhagadur Street, Temple Road, New Secretariat Colony, Ranganathapuram and Baracka Road.

In Taramani, there will be no power in Sardar Patel Road, Sriram Nagar (1st to 4th Street), Pallipet, Sriram Nagar Main Road, Sriram Nagar Colony, Pallipet Main Road, Bajanai Koil Street, Yogi Garden, New Street, Kandasamy Street and VHS Hospital.

In Chembarambakkam, the outage will affect Nazarathpet, Varatharajapuram, Bangalore Trunk Road, Panimalar Medical College and Engineering College, Agaramel, Meppur and Malayambakkam.

In Tambaram, the list of impacted areas includes Erumbliyur Indian Air Force, Bharathamatha Street, Valmiki Street, Thiruvalluvar Street, Kanthasamy Colony, LIC Colony, Mothilal Nagar, Lakshmi Nagar, Ganapathipuram, Rajendra Nagar, KK Nagar, Anandapuram, Vinoba Nagar, IAF Road and several connecting streets and colonies.

Tangedco has stated that the schedule may change depending on weather conditions or operational requirements.
