Power may be restored earlier if the work finishes ahead of time.

In separate news, Tamil Nadu is currently experiencing intense monsoon showers, leading the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a red alert for several districts. The heavy rainfall has been attributed to the early onset of the southwest monsoon and a developing low-pressure area over the Arabian Sea.

Coimbatore and Nilgiris are among the most affected, with constant rain causing waterlogging in many low-lying parts of Coimbatore. According to IMD, 11 districts are under threat: Chennai, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Theni, Tenkasi, and Tiruppur. Hilly areas are particularly vulnerable, with over 200 mm of rain expected in parts of Nilgiris, Coimbatore, and Tirunelveli.
