Chennai Power Cut: Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) has announced electricity shutdown in multiple areas in Chennai on Tuesday, May 20, in view of maintenance work. The supply will be cut off for 8 hours from 9 am to 5 pm on Tuesday. Power supply will be restored if the maintenance work is completed ahead of schedule. TANGEDCO has advised people to plan their day accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.

According to the press release issued by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board - Power supply will be suspended in the following places in Chennai tomorrow (20.05.2025) from 9 am to 5 pm due to maintenance work by the Electricity Board.

TANGEDCO conducts power shutdown for maintenance purposes. During these outages, electrical staff will handle various maintenance tasks, such as minor repairs and clearing tree branches from power lines.
