Chennai Power Outage: Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) has announced a scheduled shutdown in several areas on Friday, November 7 in view of maintenance work. The supply will be resumed before 5 pm if works are completed ahead of schedule.

Tamil Nadu Weather Forecast

Meanwhile, after a brief lull following Cyclone Montha, the northeast monsoon has regained strength and is set to bring widespread rainfall across Tamil Nadu through the week. The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Chennai has forecast heavy rainfall in several parts of the state till Thursday, November 6, with light to moderate showers likely to continue until Friday, November 7.

According to the RMC, around 50 per cent of the weather stations across Tamil Nadu are expected to record rainfall during this period. The delta and adjoining districts, including Thanjavur, Tiruchi and Karaikal, are likely to experience heavy showers on Wednesday. On Thursday, rainfall activity will extend to 12 districts, including Nagapattinam, Pudukkottai, Salem and Tiruvannamalai, while Chennai is forecast to receive light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms.
