The price of compressed natural gas (CNG) has increased since Sunday, November 16, 6 am, across select cities. The new rates kicked in after Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), the natural gas distributor that provides cooking fuel and CNG for vehicles, increased prices by an average of ₹1 per kg across Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and Kanpur.
According to NDTV Profit, citing officials of the Indraprastha Gas Limited, the price revisions have been done to maintain operational stability amid price fluctuations arising from input and procurement costs. IGL reviews CNG prices periodically based on natural gas procurement trends, global prices, and government policies.
City-Wise Increase In Rates:
- Kanpur: From Rs 87.92 per kg to Rs 88.92 per kg
- Noida & Greater Noida: From Rs 84.70 per kg to Rs 85.70 per kg
- Ghaziabad (except Hapur): rom Rs 84.70 per kg to Rs 85.70 per kg

Have prices Increased In Any Other Part Of The Country?
Currently, no revisions have been communicated for other regions. Despite this, travellers should keep a watch on the official website of IGL and the social media channels of the company to check any CNG rate adjustments.
IGL was founded in 1998 to provide cities with CNG. The company supplies compressed gas for vehicles as well as piped fuel for homes and businesses throughout Delhi and neighbouring urban centres such as Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram. Its operations also extend to select locations in Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. The distribution system spans more than 28,000 kilometres of pipelines.
IGL caters to the energy needs of more than 2.1 million CNG-powered vehicles through a network of over 950 filling points and provides piped natural gas to upwards of three million households in its service areas.
