Cold wave has gripped North India with minimum temperature in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor settling at 1.4 degrees Celsius on Saturday. Frost is bringing down the temperature every day. Within ten days, the temperature has dropped from 6.5 degrees Celsius to 1 degree Celsius. Bijnor has seen such minimum temperature for the first time in the last ten years.

Besides Uttar Pradesh, the temperature in Fatehpur in Sikar district of Rajasthan too recorded the lowest minimum temperature of minus 1.3 degrees Celsius.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the cold wave was recorded in many parts of the state on Friday night. The minimum temperature was recorded at 1.9 degrees Celsius in Karauli, 2.4 degrees in Churu, 2.6 degrees in Bhilwara, 3.0 degrees in Sirohi, 3.2 degrees in Chittorgarh, 4.0 degrees in Pilani, 4.5 degrees in Jaipur and 4.9 degrees Celsius in Sangaria.

The weather department has also issued a yellow alert for cold waves in these districts.

Mercury Reached 1.4 Degrees In Mount Abu

The IMD said the weather remained mainly dry in the Rajasthan in the past 24 hours, with cold wave conditions expected to continue. According to the IMD, hill station Mount Abu is experiencing extremely cold weather, with the temperature dropping to 1.4 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 1.4 degrees Celsius, leading to widespread cold conditions across the hill station. The cold weather has made the roads slippery and vehicles are driving cautiously to avoid accidents.

Delhi Weather: Temperature Settles A Notch Below Normal

The minimum temperature settled a notch below normal at 8 degrees Celsius in Delhi on Saturday, the Met office said. On Thursday, the city had recorded the lowest temperature of this winter season as the minimum temperature dipped to 4.5 degrees Celsius.
