Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Thursday hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi labeling him the leader of GA-NDA coalition. This came soon after PM Modi’s 'GHAMANDIA' jibe aimed at the opposition I.N.D.I.A bloc while addressing a rally in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh.

"Everyone should be alert. By removing 'Sanatana,' these people want to push us thousands of years back”, the PM said.

In response to the Prime Minister's comments, Jairam Ramesh took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express his views. He stated, "The PM is back to doing what he does best—insulting. He repeated his abuse of INDIA parties as so-called Ghamandia parties. Look, who's talking! The man who uses the occasion of a government function to abuse the opposition Stooping to his level, one could easily say he heads the GA-NDA coalition—Gautam Adani's NDA."

PM Modi's remark was prompted by the controversy surrounding a statement made by I.N.D.I.A member DMK's Udhayanidhi Stalin regarding 'Sanatana Dharma.'

“A few things cannot be opposed, that should be abolished only. We can't oppose dengue, mosquitoes, malaria, or corona. We have to eradicate this, that's how we have to eradicate Sanatana. Rather opposing Sanatana it should be eradicated", the Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi had said at an event in Chennai, sparking a massive controversy.

MK Stalin had defended his son's statement, criticizing the government for focusing on this issue while ignoring everyday concerns.

“While the Prime Minister remains silent on everyday issues impacting the common man, his cabinet focuses on Sanatan Dharma by spreading false narratives and fueling it with support from a few media outlets.” Tamil Nadu CM Stalin wrote on social media platform X.

Despite the political slugfest, DMK chief MK Stalin urged his party members not to be diverted by such tactics and to continue addressing pressing issues, including the Manipur violence, Adani Hindenburg, the CAG report, and other matters of public concern. He emphasized the importance of asking questions and remaining focused on the welfare of the common people.
