Amid an escalated tension between India and Pakistan, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel stated that the 'Operation Sindoor' cannot be declared successful until the terrorists behind the Pahalgam terror attack are caught. The former Chhattisgarh CM also stated that the government should take the responsibility for the Pahalgam attack, adding that the deceased tourists and their family members had visited the city after the central government had assured them that "everything is normal".

"26 people lost their lives, were those 4 or 5 terrorists caught? If they were not caught, then how can you say that Operation Sindoor was successful? Who is responsible for the lapse? People went to Kashmir on your (government's) assurance that everything is normal. People went there with their families and lost their loved ones," Baghel stated.

Earlier, BJP spokesperson and MP Sambit Patra had stated that the operation was 100 per cent successful, adding that the army achieved every target. “As Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji announced from the soil of Bihar, the objective of Operation Sindoor was the dismantling of terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan,” Patra was quoted as saying by the Indian Express.

“This was 100 per cent achieved by our forces, and that too through controlled, measured, precise and non-escalatory action. It is the first such instance in the world where such decisive action, in this case striking at the heart of Pakistan, its heart, was taken by one nuclear-armed nation against another,” he added.

Indian armed forces had conducted Operation Sindoor against the terrorists of Pakistan, in which several wanted terrorists were killed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that Pakistan must stop endorsing terrorists; otherwise, the Indian army will remove their existence. Earlier on Saturday, India and Pakistan had agreed to a ceasefire understanding after the tension escalated between the two nations.
