Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the northern states are likely to witness a sharp drop in temperature in the upcoming days. The residents are also set to experience a cold wave, especially in the morning hours, leading to inconveniences. The weather department also stated that Cyclone Ditwah is expected to lead to heavy rainfall in the coastal regions of the southern states. Along with the heavy downpour, these regions are also set to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds. The IMD has advised residents to follow the guidelines and maintain a distance from the water bodies to avoid inconveniences.

Northern States To Witness Temperature Drop

The weather department stated that several states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Bihar, are likely to witness temperature drops in the upcoming days. It stated that the residents of these states are also set to experience a cold wave, leading to inconveniences. Apart from this, the air quality of Delhi is not likely to improve in the upcoming days. While the maximum temperature of Delhi is likely to be calculated at 25 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is set to remain around 8 degrees Celsius.

Cyclone Ditwah: Southern States To Witness Rain

The IMD stated that Cyclone Ditwah will lead to rainfall in several states, including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala. The coastal regions are also set to witness thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds, leading to inconveniences. The weather department stated that these states are set to witness rainfall at least till December 1.

“We expect it to come out of Sri Lanka and enter the southwest Bay of Bengal by 29th morning. Then there could be a slight intensification. With this wind speed, the cyclone storm will continue to move north-northwestwards and reach near the North Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coast by 30th early morning,” IMD Director General of Meteorology Dr Mrutyunjay Mohapatra was quoted as saying by ANI.
