Darshan Murder Case: The investigation into the murder of a man, who was allegedly a fan of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, has taken a turn. Darshan, popularly known as a Sandalwood actor, and his girlfriend Pavithra Gowda, along with 11 others, are currently in custody. According to the investigators, Pavithra had allegedly asked Darshan to punish Renuka Swamy for posting derogatory comments about her on social media. A driver named Ravi has now surrendered himself to the authorities, shedding new light on the case.

Ravi, the driver, surrendered to the Deputy Superintendent of Police's office in Chitradurga on Thursday night. After dropping the suspects off in Bengaluru, Ravi went into hiding. He later contacted the taxi association in Chitradurga, who advised him to surrender to the police, as per NDTV report.

Another accused, Raghu alias Raghavendra, had arranged for a taxi to transport Renuka Swamy to Bengaluru on June 8. All the suspects, including the actor and his girlfriend, had boarded Ravi's cab in Chitradurga and reached the city later that evening.

According to NDTV report, Raghu was the manager of a fan club for the Kannada actor in Chitradurga. The police allege that the actor hired Raghu to gather information about Renuka Swamy, whose wife claims he was kidnapped from near their home.

Emerging CCTV footage has further implicated the accused, showing two cars being driven away from the spot where Swamy's body was found. One of the vehicles is linked to the murder-accused actor.

The investigation has revealed that the actor and his associates allegedly took Swamy to a shed in Bengaluru's Kamakshipalya, where Darshan is said to have brutally assaulted him with a belt, while his aides beat him with sticks until he became unconscious. The victim's body was later discovered by a food delivery rider, with dogs already nibbling at it.
