A large-scale rescue operation entered its second day in Rajasthan's Dausa district after a five-year-old boy, identified as Aryan Meena, fell into an open borewell in Kalikhad village. The incident occurred at 3 pm on Monday while the child was accompanying his mother to a nearby field and accidentally fell into the 150-feet-deep borewell.
On the second day of the rescue operation, the rescuers confirmed that they last observed movements from Aryan through a camera at 2 am on Tuesday, 13 hours after he fell into the 150-feet-deep borewell. Aryan is believed to be trapped at the same depth and oxygen is being supplied to him through a pipe. A camera has been placed inside the borewell to monitor his condition.
The rescue operation is being carried out by personnel of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) while Civil Defence teams are also present at the spot. The rescuers are focused on digging a parallel borewell to safely reach the child and a team is also attempting a direct rescue with the help of a rope and other equipment, an official said.
Local authorities, including Dausa District Magistrate Devendra Kumar and MLA Deendayal Berwa, are overseeing the rescue efforts. Medical teams are on-site and earthmovers and tractors are being used to dig the parallel pit.

Aryan fell into the open borewell at around 3 pm while playing in the agricultural field. Rescue operations began an hour later. Earlier this year, a similar rescue operation took place in Dausa’s Bandikui area, where a two-year-old girl was rescued after being trapped in a 35-foot borewell for 18 hours.
