Dehradun Flash Floods: In a rescue operation, which was dramatic, heroic, and brave, a National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) member saved a Child stranded on an electric pole amid rain fury in Dehradun. The rescue operation took place on Tuesday, when a child was trapped in the midstreams of floodwater of the Swarna River.
Heavy damage was caused after heavy rain in the Karligarh Sahastradhara area on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, triggering flash floods.

In the rescue video, released by the NDRF on the X platform, an NDRF member is seen making his way toward the stranded child through a ropeway in the middle of the flooded river. As the officer reached the electric pole, atop which the child was left trapped, he then attached the carabiner to the child, who then ziplined back to safety.

After a cloudburst and heavy rainfall overnight, a flash flood was triggered in Dehradun. Several visuals of damage in Dheradun district showed that shops, hotels, and a number of structures crumbled and were swept away.
Earlier, District Magistrate Savin Bansal said that rescue teams from the NDRF, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Public Works Department (PWD) were carrying out the rescue operations.
