Delhi Air Pollution: New Delhi's health department issued a crucial public advisory on Saturday, urging residents to refrain from morning walks and physical exercises due to the ongoing health emergency caused by pollution. The advisory, published in newspapers, provides guidelines for Delhiites to safeguard their health against the impact of pollution.

Pregnant women, senior citizens, children, and people with medical conditions are advised to avoid exposure to pollution. The advisory recommends steering clear of high-pollution areas, such as congested roads, industrial zones, and construction sites.

Furthermore, it advised people to avoid outdoor activities like morning and late evening walks, jogging, running, and other physical exercises, especially during days with severe Air Quality Index (AQI). The Delhi government urges people not to smoke tobacco products, refrain from burning mosquito-repellent coils, and avoid the burning of wood, leaves, and crop residues.

The advisory encourages eye washing, regular gargling with lukewarm water, and maintaining a healthy diet. In cases of breathlessness, giddiness, cough, chest discomfort, pain, or eye irritation, individuals are advised to consult a doctor promptly. The government also advocates the use of public transport or carpooling, practising wet mopping instead of sweeping indoors and maintaining awareness of overall health and well-being.
