Delhi Air Pollution: Amid worsened air quality in Delhi and nearby cities, senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has suggested the BJP-ruled Delhi and central governments to take "immediate" steps to control the damage. Upon returning from Kerala's Wayanad and poll-bound Bihar, she stated that all the parties must act together "regardless of the political compulsions" in a post on X. She further advised the governments to intervene, further stating that residents of the capital city, especially children and senior citizens, suffer every year due to the air pollution.
"Returning to the Delhi air from Wayanad first, then Bachwara in Bihar is truly shocking. The pollution enveloping this city is like a grey shroud thrown over it," Priyanka Gandhi stated in her post.

"It’s really about time all of us get together regardless of our political compulsions and do something about it. The central and state government need to act immediately, we will all support and cooperate with whatever actions they choose to take to mitigate this awful situation. Year after year the citizens of Delhi are subjected to this toxicity with no recourse," the Congress MP added.
She further stated that the current situation is dangerous for the people suffering from respiratory issues, children, and senior citizens. "Those who suffer from respiratory issues, children who commute to school every day and senior citizens especially, need urgent intervention to clear the filthy smog we are all breathing. @gupta_rekha, @byadavbjp,@narendramodi, please take immediate steps," she further stated.
Delhi’s air quality remained in the ‘very poor’ category on Sunday morning, with the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 338 at 7 am, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The health ministry has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid inconveniences.
