Despite concerns about high AQI levels, many across the capital are preparing to celebrate Chhath Puja. Delhi High Court on Wednesday denied permission to hold rituals at Yamuna Ghats owing to surging pollution in the river. The Delhi Government said it has earmarked over 1000 spots across the city to perform Chhath Puja, adding that all requisite arrangements have been made in this regard.
Toxic foam was seen floating on the Yamuna River in Kalindi Kunj, as pollution levels in the river remained high.
The emission from vehicles is playing the most significant role in Delhi pollution. Several measures were adopted to prevent pollution caused by vehicles in Delhi, but they all failed.
