Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, accused of sexually harassing 17 female students at a management institute linked to an ashram in South Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area, is now under fresh scrutiny after vulgar WhatsApp messages allegedly sent by Chaitanyananda to female students have surfaced.
“Come to my room… I’ll take you on a trip abroad, you won’t have to pay anything,” reads one of the messages recovered from the phone of a female student at the Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management in Vasant Kunj, where the accused served as director, NDTV reported.
Similar WhatsApp messages were recovered from the mobile phones of over 50 students, revealing details of the abuse spanning 16 years.

16 Years Of Abuse Allegations Surface Against Swami Chaitanyananda
- In one WhatsApp message, Swami Chaitanyananda lures a woman with promises of wealth, while in another, he threatens a female student with poor academic results, saying, “If you don't obey me, I will fail you.”
- According to the ongoing investigation and the recovered WhatsApp messages, Chaitanyananda has been sexually harassing women for at least the last 16 years.
- Despite two prior molestation complaints against him in 2009 and 2016, Chaitanyananda appears to have evaded consequences.
- The second case, which was lodged by a woman from the same Vasant Kunj ashram in 2016, was highly overlooked. Neither the police nor the ashram authorities took action against him.
Swami Chaitanyananda Used WhatsApp To Lure And Blackmail Victims
- The self-styled ‘godman’ initially contacted victims through WhatsApp calls or messages, often starting with seemingly innocuous texts. When the messages failed to get the desired response, he threatened to fail them academically, NDTV quoted a police source as saying.
- Police further stated that the female students targeted were mostly from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), possibly because Chaitanyananda believed that the victim or their families are less likely to file a complaint.
- Investigations further revealed that Chaitanyananda was reportedly assisted by three female wardens, whose statement has been recorded by the police.
