Train News: In a move to enhance rail connectivity in the region, the Northern Railway is undertaking pre-non and non-interlocking work at the Palwal railway station. This ongoing project aims to improve the connectivity between Palwal and the New Prithla yard of the Delhi Railway Division.

However, the construction work on the railway tracks has led to the cancellation of several train services passing through the Bhopal division.

Train Updates

The Shan-e-Bhopal Express, which runs between Rani Kamlapati and Nizamuddin, will be cancelled from September 6 to 15.

The Vande Bharat Express will be cancelled on September 17.

Furthermore, the Nizamuddin-Jabalpur Superfast Express will be rerouted during this period. The train will be short-terminated at Agra Cantt station from September 5 to 16, and the return journey from Nizamuddin to Jabalpur will start from Agra Cantt station from September 6 to 17.

The diverted route for the Nizamuddin-Jabalpur Superfast Express will be through Ghaziabad, Mathura and Agra Cantt, operating on August 29, 30 and 31, as well as September 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

These temporary service disruptions are necessary to facilitate the ongoing upgrades at the Palwal railway station, which aim to enhance the overall rail connectivity in the region.

Sleeper Vande-Bharat Train

India's first Vande Bharat sleeper train, expected to be operational by the end of 2024, marks the third version in the Vande Bharat series. Developed by BEML and Medha Servo Drives with European design inputs, the train features 823 berths across 16 coaches, including 3AC, 2AC and 1AC classes. Key features include LED floor strips, reading lights, charging sockets and modern safety systems like Kavach. The train is currently undergoing final integration, testing and trial runs. This Make in India initiative involves multiple Indian suppliers, aiming to provide a world-class travel experience for overnight journeys.
