Delhi Blast: A high-level Cabinet Committee on Security chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday observed that the blast near Delhi' Red Fort that killed 13 and injured many was a "heinous terror incident". The key meeting, also attended by Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, also asserted that the conspirators behind the incident will be brought to justice. The Union Cabinet met at the Prime Minister's residence and also observed a two-minute silence in honour of the victims of the incident.

While describing the incident as "a dastardly and cowardly act perpetrated by anti-national forces", the Committee asserted that India has a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism "in all its forms and manifestations". The government observed all the updates regarding the case and extended condolences to all the victims and their families. Apart from this, the government also praised the medical personnel and emergency responders by observing that "their dedication and sense of duty are deeply commendable."
