Delhi Red Fort Blast: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has ramped up its investigation into the deadly suicide car bomb explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort, taking Dr. Shaheen Saeed, one of the arrested suspects to Faridabad for further questioning on Friday. This follows new developments that are shedding light on a widespread terror network.

According to a report by Jagran.com, the plot uncovered involves a white-collar terror module aimed at spreading chaos across the country. The attackers were building an extensive network, attempting to recruit both men and women to carry out their plans. Female were specifically targeted for recruitment, with the belief that women could be more easily manipulated into committing terror acts. The suspects were reportedly compiling a list of female students and staff at the university for this purpose.

Delhi Red Fort Blast Investigation: Shocking Details Revealed

- Shaheen's Role in Faridabad: Dr. Shaheen was taken to Faridabad to corroborate findings linked to the seizure of a massive explosives cache, estimated at nearly 2,900 kg, shortly before the blast. The Hyundai i20 car used in the explosion was traced to a local dealer in the area.

- During questioning, Dr. Shaheen revealed significant details about the role of Soyab, a resident of Dhauj in Faridabad. According to ANI citing sources said, Soyab allegedly sheltered the bomber, Umar Un Nabi, just before the attack, providing crucial logistical support.

- Investigators have uncovered that the terror network operated in three distinct categories:

1. Individuals who were fully aware of the operation and directly involved.

2. People who were lured with promises of money and job opportunities to aid the operation.

3. Individuals who were unknowingly used for logistical support without knowledge of the larger plan.

- Dr. Shaheen, a pharmacologist at Al-Falah University, provided the NIA with significant information during her interrogation. On Thursday night, the NIA team visited her flat on the university campus (Flat No. 32, Block No. 15), where they conducted an in-depth search. Neighbours were questioned, and several students and staff members who had close contact with Dr. Shaheen were also interrogated.

- The investigation has revealed that Muzammil, one of the primary suspects, operated from various hideouts near the Al-Falah campus. Besides renting hideouts in Fatehpur Taga and Dhauj in Faridabad, Muzammil had taken a house on rent from the former sarpanch of Khori Jamalpur village on the pretext of starting a Kashmiri fruit business, and a small room built on a farmer's land, police sources told PTI.

- Muzammil occupied the room between April and July 2025 for Rs 8,000 per month.

- The accommodation, owned by Jumma Khan, has three bedrooms and a hall plus kitchen, and it was about 4 kilometres from Al-Falah University, where Muzammil worked and was picked up by the J&K police.

- NIA discovered that a few months prior to her arrest, Dr. Shaheen had married Dr. Muzammil at the Al-Falah University mosque, with a simple ceremony attended by just 12 close friends. The couple later moved to same house which Muzammil rented in Khori Jamalpur, which was also raided by the NIA. The NIA is now identifying the people who attended Dr. Shaheen's wedding. All those involved will be questioned.

- The team remained at the house for about an hour and then took her to a chemical shop at Nehru Ground. Investigators discovered that Dr. Muzammil had purchased chemicals for bomb-making from a local shop in Nehru Ground, which supplied chemicals to universities and colleges. According to sources cited by Jagran.com, Dr. Muzammil had purchased chemicals for making explosives from that shop, which supplies chemicals to universities and colleges.

- Dr. Shaheen was a pharmacologist at the university. She was the head of the women's recruitment wing of Jaish-e-Mohammed in India and was in the process of assembling a team of doctors to carry out bombings across the country. The police recovered an AK-47 and other items from her car. Later, a new car was found parked on the university campus. She is currently in the custody of the NIA.

- Forensic analysis has confirmed that the driver of the suicide car bomb, Umar, was an Assistant Professor at Al-Falah University and a resident of Pulwama. The vehicle used in the attack was purchased with the help of Amir Rashid Ali, one of the suspects arrested by the NIA. Ali is alleged to have facilitated the purchase of the car used in the attack, which was then turned into a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED).

- As part of the investigation, the NIA has arrested several individuals, including Amir Rashid Ali, in whose name the explosion car was registered, and Jasir Bilal Wani (alias Danish), who allegedly provided technical support to the bomber. To date, seven suspects have been arrested and confronted by the NIA.

- On November 20, the NIA arrested Dr. Shaheen, along with Dr. Muzammil Shakeel Ganai, Dr. Adeel Ahmed Rather, and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay, all of whom are believed to have played significant roles in the planning and execution of the November 10 attack that claimed 15 lives and left many others injured. The arrests were made in Srinagar following production orders from Patiala House Court in Delhi.

- The NIA, in close coordination with Delhi Police, Haryana Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Uttar Pradesh Police, and other agencies, is continuing its investigation into the terror network, which spans multiple states.
