Delhi BMW Crash: A Delhi court on Wednesday denied bail to Gaganpreet Kaur, the accused in the Delhi BMW crash case in which a senior government official was killed. Judicial Magistrate Ankit Garg extended the judicial custody of the accused till September 27 after she was presented in the court. While appearing for the accused, Advocate Ramesh Gupta stated that the case was being converted into a culpable homicide while it was a "mere accident" case. He further stated that the DTC bus should have also been seized, as the bike also had a collision with it, adding that the ambulance that reportedly passed by should also be charged in the case.

Advocate Gupta further claimed that the police were under "immense" pressure, further asking why the case was lodged after 10 hours. “An ambulance had stopped but refused to take them. Even he is guilty then. Police said that after the crash, the bike hit the DTC bus. Why did the police not seize the bus? Why did it file the case after 10 hours? The police are under immense pressure, so they can do anything. We pray that the Deputy Commissioner of Police be made witness in the case," Advocate Gupta stated.

Apart from this, he pointed out that a woman could get bail even in severe cases under certain circumstances. “if it’s a lady, you can give bail in cases of death sentence and life also," advocate Gupta stated. However, the Delhi police told the court that the accused did not admit the victim to a nearby hospital even after knowing the importance of every single minute.

Earlier on Tuesday, the accused's husband told the police that he was unaware of how the accident happened. “My wife told me she was taking them along. I informed my father-in-law that they needed treatment and that they were on the way. After that, I left in another taxi," he claimed.
