In the aftermath of the deadly car blasts in Delhi’s Red Fort, local police have registered two separate FIRs against Haryana’s Al-Fatah University following several allegations raised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an official said on Saturday, quoted PTI. 

Both the FIRs have been registered by Delhi’s Crime Branch for cheating and misleading officials over alleged false claims made by the university. According to the officials, the university came under the scanner of both UGC and NAAC after both the agencies flagged ‘major irregularities’ during their annual review of the institution’s functioning which forced the law enforcement agencies to step in.

Additionally, a separate FIR has been filed by the Delhi Police Special Cell under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), which has already been handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Officials have already arrested Dr Shaheen, who was a faculty member at the university, and are currently trying to unearth the larger conspiracy behind the blast.

The university is located at Dhauj in Haryana's Faridabad near Delhi. A police team also visited Al-Falah University headquarters in Okhla and sought details about the suspects earlier in the day. Further investigation is underway, the police said.

Delhi Blast: Investigation Reveals 32 Cars Being Prepared For Attack

Investigation into the deadly explosion near the Red Fort has revealed that 32 vehicles, including a Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Swift Dzire, and Ford EcoSport, were being readied to carry explosive materials or deliver bombs for coordinated attacks across multiple cities to avenge the demolition of Babri Masjid.

The cars, including the white Hyundai i20, that exploded on Monday, were part of a planned series of revenge attacks across multiple locations, including six targets in Delhi on December 6, marking the anniversary of the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition in Ayodhya, NDTV quoted sources as saying.

Among the vehicles linked to the plot are a Maruti Brezza, Maruti Swift Dzire, Ford EcoSport, and the Hyundai i20 that exploded near the Red Fort on Monday, October 10. According to authorities, the cars were deliberately selected because they were older models that had been changed multiple times, making it difficult to trace the ownership. However, all four vehicles have now been recovered.
