Delhi CM Oath Ceremony: Rekha Gupta is set to take the oath as the new Chief Minister of Delhi along with other MLAs at Ramlila Maidan. Apart from the new chief minister, six other MLAs will take oath as cabinet members in the new government. Several prominent leaders, including Parvesh Verma, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra, and Pankaj Kumar Singh, will take oath today.
One of the most discussed names among the proposed cabinet ministers is Ravinder Indraj Singh, newly elected MLA from the Bawana constituency. Singh has been actively working for the rights of SC/ST in the state and is also a known politician in the rural regions of the national capital.
The inclusion of Indraj Singh in the cabinet is expected to benefit the party in multiple ways, including sending a message to the backward communities voters and the people residing in the rural regions. The saffron party managed to register victory over all the 10 rural constituencies of Delhi.
Who Is Ravinder Indraj Singh?
Ravinder Indraj Singh has been an active critic of AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal and raised issues related to SC/ST and rural Delhi while AAP was in power. 50-year-old Singh is also a member of the Schedule Caste committee of the party, and the move to include him in the cabinet is likely to send a positive message to the SC voters.
Indraj defeated incumbent AAP MLA on the Bawana constituency by more than 31 thousand votes. He graduated from Delhi University and has been working as a businessman. He is also known for his connectivity with people and has no criminal cases against him.
Apart from Indraj Singh, Parvesh Verma is another leader who has been chosen to be part of the cabinet who belongs to the rural Delhi. He defeated ex-Chief Minister of Delhi and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal from the New Delhi assembly constituency. Though his name was also discussed for the chief minister post, Rekha Gupta was given the responsibility considering several factors.
