Delhi Traffic Advisory: With the swearing-in ceremony of Rekha Gupta as Delhi’s new Chief Minister scheduled today at Ramlila Maidan, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory to manage road congestion and ensure smooth movement across the city.
DCP Traffic Saurabh Chandra confirmed that extensive traffic management plans have been put in place for the event, which is expected to witness a large gathering and VVIP presence. "We have issued a traffic advisory on our Twitter handle and other social media platforms, providing information about the diversions in the city," he said while speaking with ANI.

In an announcement on social media platforms, the Delhi Traffic Police provided commuters with important updates on diversions and restrictions to prevent disruptions.
Public Advisory: Use Public Transport
Authorities have urged Delhi residents to opt for public transport instead of private vehicles to reduce congestion. The police have also emphasized the importance of parking only in designated areas and avoiding roadside parking to maintain smooth traffic flow.
Additionally, as a security measure, citizens are advised to report any suspicious activity, objects, or individuals they may notice.
Check Traffic Diversions & Alternative Routes
Commuters traveling to New Delhi Railway Station are advised to use the Paharganj side instead of Ajmeri Gate. To manage the high volume of traffic, diversions have been set up at several key locations, including:
- Subhash Park T-Point
- Raj Ghat
- Delhi Gate
- ITO
- Ajmeri Gate
- Ranjeet Singh Flyover
- Bhavbhuti Marg-DDU Marg Red Light
- Round About Jhandewalan
Road Restrictions & Timings
Traffic regulations, restrictions, and diversions will be in effect from 7 AM to 4 PM on the following roads and surrounding areas:
- BSZ Marg (ITO to Delhi Gate)
- JLN Marg (Delhi Gate to Guru Nanak Chowk)
- Aruna Asaf Ali Road, New Delhi
- Minto Road to Round About Kamla Market to Hamdard Chowk
- Ranjeet Singh Flyover to Turkman Gate
- Ajmeri Gate to Round About Kamla Market
Commuters are urged to stay patient, follow all traffic rules, and cooperate with traffic personnel stationed across the city. The Delhi Traffic Police will continue to share real-time updates through their official social media channels to assist travelers.
