Delhi CM: The BJP has named Rekha Gupta as its Chief Ministerial candidate for Delhi, sparking speculation about other key appointments. Reports suggest that Parvesh Verma might be appointed as Deputy Chief Minister after Union Minister Nitin Gadkari briefly congratulated him on Instagramonly to delete the post later. This move has fueled further discussions about Verma’s potential role, as reported by Jagran.com.

Meanwhile, Vijender Gupta, a three-time MLA and former Leader of the Opposition, is expected to be named Assembly Speaker.

Senior BJP Leaders Overlooked for CM Role

Several senior BJP leaders, including Parvesh Verma, Vijender Gupta, Ashish Sood, Satish Upadhyay, and Manjinder Singh Sirsa, were in the race for the Chief Minister’s post. However, Rekha Gupta was chosen over them, reportedly to strengthen the party’s appeal among women voters and the Vaishya community.

Oath Ceremony for New Ministers Today

According to ANI, several BJP leaders, including Parvesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra, and Pankaj Kumar Singh, are set to take the oath as ministers today.

Will Parvesh Verma Be Deputy CM?

The buzz around Parvesh Verma's possible appointment as Deputy CM has intensified. The now-deleted Instagram post by Nitin Gadkari seemed to confirm his selection. Additionally, Vijender Gupta is likely to take on the Assembly Speaker's role.

Other names reportedly under consideration for cabinet positions include Satish Upadhyay, Arvinder Singh Lovely, Mohan Singh Bisht, Abhay Verma, Kailash Gangwal, and Karnail Singh Saini, jagran.com reported.

Why Was Parvesh Verma Not Chosen as CM?

Parvesh Verma, who defeated Arvind Kejriwal, was considered a strong contender for the Chief Minister’s role. However, sources suggest that BJP leadership opted against his appointment to avoid allegations of nepotism, given that he is the son of former Delhi CM Sahib Singh Verma.

Instead, the party chose Rekha Gupta, likely as part of a strategic move to enhance its appeal among women and the Vaishya community.
