Delhi Shocker: In a shocking incident, a 23-year-old man and his cousin were allegedly assaulted by two bouncers at a nightclub inside a five-star hotel in Connaught Place. The argument broke out over a broken toilet flush in the early hours of July 1. The man confronted the staff about the broken flush, but the staff accused him. Soon, it turned into a violent clash with two bouncers beating, kicking and punching the man and even assaulting his cousin.
What Led To The Violent Clash?
The man was a resident of West Delhi’s Tilak Nagar and had visited the nightclub on Ashoka Road on July 1 at around 12:30 AM with his 32-year-old cousin. According to the complainant's statement, he went to the bathroom at around 4:00 AM and saw that the toilet flush was broken. As soon as he came out of the restroom, the staff accused him of breaking the flush, leading to an argument between the two.
When the argument broke out, two bouncers arrived at the spot and assaulted the man. They kicked, punched and pushed him out of the club. When his cousin tried to intervene, the bouncers allegedly beat her up as well.
“The cleaner told me that you have broken the toilet. I even shut off the flush myself. Meanwhile, two bouncers came and pushed me out of the club. I told both the bouncers that you cannot push me, then both those bouncers took me outside the club and beat me with kicks and punches,” the man said.
“They threatened to kill me and my sister. Both of us were then thrown out of the hotel gate,” he added. Soon after the incident, the man dialled the police. When the police arrived at the spot, the club was closed and they took the cousins to the hospital.
Police Case Registered, Investigation Underway
The man and his cousin approached the Connaught Place Police Station and reported a complaint. A case was registered under sections 115 (voluntarily causing hurt), 126 (wrongful restraint), and 351 (criminal intimidation) of the BNS against unknown persons.
The man requested the police to take strict action against the two bouncers. He said that he will identify the individuals involved in the incident. Police investigation is underway, and they are reviewing CCTV footage and other evidence.
