Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: The two sections of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway are ready for inauguration and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has completed the preparations in this regard. As per reports, the inauguration was scheduled for Sunday, but it was later postponed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the two sections and the new date will be announced soon. After the inspection by NHAI Chairman Santosh Yadav, the team of Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) has also completed the on-site survey of the expressway. In the survey, the technical flaws in the construction of the road and the design were thoroughly examined, jagran.com reported.
Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: When Will Vehicles Start Running On The Expressway?
No flaws have been found in the survey report of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway at present. The partial route will be opened for vehicles in January 2025. The process of opening it has been expedited, keeping in mind the Delhi Assembly Election, NHAI sources said, as quoted by a News24 report.
Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: What Did The NHAI Chairman Say?
NHAI Chairman Santosh Yadav, after inspection on November 27, had issued instructions to the project director and construction agency to complete the works of beautification, signage and painting.

Delhi-Dehradun Expressway Connectivity
The work on the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, which is built at a cost of Rs 2,324 crore, was to be completed by December 2024. The project now nears completion. Following the opening of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, the distance from Delhi to Dehradun reduce considerably.
The six-lane wide and 31.6 km long Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is being constructed in two sections. Foot over bridges have also been built at many places for safe crossing for students.
Delhi-Dehradun Expressway Details
-Total Length- 31.600 Km
-Total cost- Rs 2423 crore
-The length of stretch-one is 14.750 km and the length of stretch-two is 16.850 km.
-The cost of stretch-one is Rs 1,100 crore and the cost of stretch-two is Rs 1,323 crore.
-The construction agency of Package-one is M/s Ganwar Construction and the construction agency of Package-two is M/s Gayatri Construction.
-Total width- Six lanes Package-1 is 6.398 km long elevated and Package-2 is 11.244 km long elevated.
-Seven underpasses, two ROBs, 17 major and 37 minor junctions have been built. 28.39 km of slip service road has been constructed.
-Bus ways have been built at five locations.
