Delhi-Dehradun Expressway Project: All work on the 12-km-long elevated road from Ganeshpur to Daat Kali in the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway project has been completed. The Project Director's Office of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has also completed the project's safety audit. Now, the project office is simply awaiting instructions for the expressway's formal inauguration, jagran.com reported.

According to NHAI Project Director Saurabh Singh, all safety measures have been taken on the elevated road. 16 speed detection cameras have been installed at designated locations. These cameras will monitor vehicle speeds and immediately alert the control room in case of overspeeding.

These cameras will also be under the direct control of the Transport Department under the Metered Vehicle Act and will automatically issue challans. Additionally, 12 mobile towers have been installed. The old highway used to experience network outages in the Mohand area. This problem has been resolved on the new highway.

Maximum Speed Limit Set

According to National Highway Authority officials, the maximum speed limit for small vehicles is 100 km/h, while for heavy vehicles it is 80 km/h. Speed limits are further reduced at curves, with signs posted at designated locations.

Lay-by arrangements have been made on the elevated road, with cranes also deployed.
Project Director Saurabh Singh explained that lay-bys have been provided on the elevated road to assist drivers. Extra-wide spaces have been provided on both lanes. If a vehicle breaks down, it can be parked on the extra-wide area. Patrol vehicles and cranes have also been provided for assistance, which will be available at all times in case of accidents or other emergencies.

Overpass Also Ready For Daat Kali Devotees

NHAI officials said that a separate overpass was included in the elevated road project to ensure the safety of devotees visiting the Daat Kali Temple. This work was also completed within a year.

Entire Project Is Worth Rs 11,970 Cr

According to NHAI officials, construction of the Delhi-Doon Expressway is underway in 11 packages covering a total of 213 kilometres. The work is being overseen by different project offices within the authority.
