Delhi Diwali Celebrations: The Supreme Court has given a go-ahead for the sale and bursting of green firecrackers in Delhi-NCR during the Diwali celebrations. A bench led by Chief Justice B R Gavai and Justice K Vinod Chandran approved the joint plea by the Centre and Delhi government, easing the existing ban on green crackers. However, the top court clarified that the relaxation was 'on a test case basis'

Patrolling teams under various agencies will make sure that firecrackers are approved by NEERI and Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO). They will also ensure that the firecrackers contain the relevant QR codes and are burst on fixed days and timings, news agency PTI said on Wednesday quoting officials.
