The election campaign for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 officially ended on Monday evening, and now, not only the national capital but the entire country is focused on the 70 assembly seats in Delhi. Voting will take place on Wednesday, February 5, and the results will be announced on February 8. This election is expected to see a triangular contest, unlike the previous two elections (2015 and 2020), where the battle was mainly between BJP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), with AAP securing a one-sided victory. Before AAP's rise, Congress ruled Delhi for 15 years, while BJP has been struggling to form a government in the capital for the past 27 years.

What is VVPAT? Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) ensures that the vote you cast for your chosen candidate is recorded correctly. After you vote using the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), the VVPAT will print a slip that shows the candidate's photo, party symbol, and serial number. This printout is visible for seven seconds, allowing voters to verify that their vote has been cast correctly. If there is an issue, voters can inform the presiding officer for further checks. In case of any irregularity, voting may be temporarily halted for verification.
