The Delhi-NCR, along with other states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Kerala and others, are on high alert after a massive explosion near Delhi's iconic Red Fort on Monday evening left 15 dead and several injured.
Among the NCR cities, Gurugram has been put on high alert. As part of this, DCP West has been given responsibility for the control room, and more than 4,000 police personnel have been deployed.
A blockade has been put in place at the Delhi-Gurugram border. All vehicles passing through are being checked. In particular, the identity cards of drivers and passengers in vehicles with license plates from other states are being checked.
Similarly, Noida and Ghaziabad have also been put on high alert. The cities of UP in NCR are on alert as part of the state-wide vigil announced by the Uttar Pradesh DGP.

Speaking about the alert, ADG Law and Order Amitabh Yash said, said that the DGP has issued instructions to all senior officials in Uttar Pradesh to increase security at sensitive religious sites, sensitive districts, and border areas. All security agencies have also been alerted. Police in all districts of Uttar Pradesh have been put on alert. An order was issued from Lucknow to increase patrols and checks in sensitive areas.
Security beefed up in Lucknow
As part of the strict vigilance, security was also beefed up at important railway stations and the airport in Lucknow. The CISF, police and several other agencies conducted an intensive checking at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, enhancing the security perimeter.
Meanwhile, RPF and GRP formed joint teams and conducted special checks at stations like Lucknow Station, Lucknow Junction, Aishbagh, Badshahnagar, and Gomtinagar. The bomb disposal squad checked trains and abandoned vehicles on the Lucknow station premises. Under the leadership of Lucknow Junction RPF in-charge Amit Rai, passengers were questioned at all six platforms, including the cabway, in front of Lucknow Junction. Passengers on several trains, including the Pushpak Express, were allowed entry only after their luggage was checked.
Kerala, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand on alert
Among other states that have gone on high alert are Kerala, Maharashtaand, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh. ANI quoted Maharashtra Home Departmet sources as saying, "After the recovery of 360 kg of possible ammonium nitrate (from Haryana's Faridabad), Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held a meeting with all senior police officials at Varsha this afternoon and reviewed the overall security situation. Now, after the incident in Delhi, he has once again instructed the police to remain vigilant. All agencies have been directed to remain alert."
Similarly, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the DGP on stay of on alert across the state. Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan has also annoucned a full alert in the state and directed the state police to remain vigilant in the wake of explosion.
