Delhi and parts of northern India continue to grapple with dense fog, leading to reduced visibility and significant challenges for transportation services. Flights and trains connecting the national capital to the rest of the country are experiencing delays and disruptions.
The dense fog has resulted in delays for eighteen trains and passengers are stuck at the railway station amid severe cold.

Delhi Airport has issued a dense fog alert, urging passengers to stay informed about their flight details due to the usual delays experienced on foggy mornings.

Flight operations have been significantly impacted, with 168 flights delayed and 84 flights canceled at the Delhi airport, according to flight tracker website flightradar24. The average delay duration stands at approximately one hour.
“Due to dense fog, flight operations at Delhi Airport may be affected. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted,” the airport authority said in a post on X.

Major airlines, including IndiGo, SpiceJet, and Vistara, have cautioned passengers about potential disruptions, citing adverse weather conditions in Delhi and Kolkata. A Delhi-Kolkata flight was diverted to Hyderabad in response to the challenging weather conditions.
Meanwhile, a passenger on an Indigo flight hit the captain inside the aircraft while the pilot was announcing a delay in flight operations. Delhi Police said "We will take appropriate legal action against the accused"
Yesterday, a similar foggy condition disrupted both flight and train services in Delhi, with zero visibility reported in the airport area. The minimum temperature recorded was 7 degrees, marking the season's first cold wave day. Saturday night witnessed the coldest temperature at 3 degrees Celsius.
