A four-storey building collapsed late Monday night in Delhi’s Punjabi Basti area of Sabzi Mandi, injuring several people. Fourteen individuals were rescued from the debris and admitted to a nearby hospital. Several vehicles, including cars and two-wheelers, were buried. Delhi Fire Services, police, and ambulances rushed to the spot and carried out rescue operations.
An eyewitness told IANS that the collapse occurred around 2:50 am, adding that complaints had been filed earlier about the weak pillars. Another witness said cases were registered over the same issue but no action was taken. Several people were trapped when the building gave way, she added.
Early on July 12 at least four bodies were found after a four-storey building collapsed in the Welcome area of northeast Delhi on Saturday (July 12, 2025) morning, taking the death toll to six. Eight people, including a one-year-old baby, were injured, and a few are still feared trapped under the rubble.
The Delhi Fire Services said a man and a woman were pulled out dead from the debris and their bodies sent to GTB Hospital. Rescue operations are ongoing, with eight injured persons shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The collapse occurred around 7:04 am, affecting three floors of the building near Idgah, Welcome, while the ground and first floors were unoccupied. The building’s owner, Matloob, and his family were inside, with some rescued along with locals who were injured as rubble hit nearby structures.
Residents and passersby were among the first responders, and seven fire tenders were deployed to assist in ongoing rescue efforts. Locals described the scene as chaotic, with dust and debris covering the area, while rescuers continued to search for anyone still trapped.
