The Delhi government has cancelled a Rs 60 lakh tender for the renovation of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s official residence, citing “administrative reasons,” according to an official document. The move comes just days after CM Gupta inaugurated her camp office, one of the two bungalows allotted to her on Raj Niwas Marg by the Public Works Department (PWD) one designated for residence and the other for official work.

As per a PTI report, the now-scrapped renovation plan included extensive upgrades such as the installation of 14 air conditioners, several television sets, and other high-end electrical fittings, all intended to modernise the CM’s official residence. The shelving of this tender has come under public and political scrutiny, especially amid wider calls for transparency and accountability in public spending.
