Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the Delhi Government will organise a ‘Seva Pakhwada’ or a fortnight of service from September 17, which is the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, till Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. During this period, the Delhi government will dedicate 75 new schemes and services to the public.

The government will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of key developmental projects in several areas, such as health, education, sanitation, housing, transport and civic amenities.

Speaking at the Delhi Secretariat, she said, “We are commencing this seva pakhwada on the Prime Minister’s birthday. This event is a tribute to his dedication and selfless service.”

Seva Pakhwada - SCHEME Slated For Launch Between Sept 17- Oct 2

- The Delhi Government is set to inaugurate 150 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs offering routine care to emergency services to the citizens. The Ayushman Arogya Mandirs will bring primary treatment closer to residents and will reduce the burden on government hospitals.

- In addition to this, the government will introduce a citywide sanitation campaign titled ‘Delhi Ko Kude Se Azadi’.

- On the occasion of the Prime Minister’s birthday, the Delhi government will also inaugurate five major hospitals.

- CM Rekha Gupta will also lay foundation stones and inaugurate several projects related to education, housing, transport and civic amenities.

“The initiatives will not only be linked to public welfare but will also further our commitment to building a Viksit Delhi (developed Delhi),” CM said. The fortnight-long ‘Seva Pakhwada’ programme will include the inauguration of key developmental projects, foundation stone-laying ceremonies and launch of long-pending projects in Delhi.

While speaking at the event, the Chief Minister responded sharply to remarks made by the opposition leaders against PM Modi’s late mother. She said that the remarks were “deeply derogatory” and such language lowers the standards of politics, and “insults the entire womanhood.
