Delhi GTB Hospital Firing: The resident doctors at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital in New Delhi embarked on an indefinite strike on Monday morning but they did not stop the emergency services from running, after a patient was shot and killed while receiving medical attention. The strike continues in GTB Hospital today that is, Tuesday.
Based on the requests of the RDA and the Nursing group, Medical Director Dr Asmita M Rathore and UCMS came down and spoke with them, asking five members from each group to address the demands.
On Sunday, a teenager shot and killed a 32-year-old man inside a ward of the GTB Hospital in front of doctors and family. Riyazuddin, the victim, was taken to the hospital on June 23 for stomach infection treatment.
Three doctors were in ward 24 when the attacker shoved one of the doctors aside and shot Riyazuddin, according to doctors at the government-run hospital in Delhi.
