Gurugram School Closed: The Delhi government has cancelled all leaves of its employees in light of the current situation between India and Pakistan. The decision aims to ensure full emergency preparedness, according to an official order issued by the Services Department on Thursday evening.
The order clearly stated that no leave will be granted to any government official until further notice. This move comes as authorities strengthen their response system amid growing cross-border tensions.
District magistrates across Delhi are holding a emergency meetings with their teams. These meetings are focused on evaluating disaster response plans and healthcare preparedness in case of any emergency in the national capital.
Gurugram, Punjab Schools Closed
Precautionary measures are also being taken. In Haryana’s Gurugram, several schools have informed parents about sudden closures through official messages. Punjab has taken a more extensive step, announcing the closure of all schools, colleges and universities across the state for three days.

Security has been intensified across Delhi, with additional paramilitary forces deployed at key locations in response to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. Police are holding meetings to review security, focusing on malls, metro stations, hotels and airports. Vigilance has increased at crowded areas, with anti-sabotage checks conducted by Bomb Disposal Squads at vital spots. DCPs are closely monitoring law and order and security personnel, including CISF, are stationed at critical sites like Mayur Vihar Metro Station, ensuring round-the-clock surveillance. Vehicle checks have been heightened, especially at Delhi’s borders.
The heightened alert follows a major security incident on Thursday, when Indian air defence systems intercepted a suspected drone attack from Pakistan targeting areas in Jammu, Punjab and Rajasthan. Following this, several cities enforced blackouts, air raid sirens were activated and an IPL match in Dharamshala was suspended midway.
