Delhi Weather Forecast: After a temporary break from scorching weather in the form of pre-monsoon showers, the residents of Delhi are once again expected to bear blistering heat as the national capital braces for the hottest week ahead. The mercury is expected to soar, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) anticipating a temperature increase of 3 to 4 degrees Celsius. The temperature is expected to hit 43 degrees Celsius by Tuesday, bringing the hottest week of the season so far. 

According to the IMD weather forecast released for the base station Safdarganj, the maximum temperature is expected to hit 42 degrees Celsius on Sunday, with the sky mainly clear. As of today, the temperature in Delhi has already begun to settle in, with the base weather station Safdarjung recording a maximum of 39.8°C, around normal for this time of the season.

The IMD predicts a mix of clear sky, cloudy weather and hot surface wind for the coming week till June 14. No sight of monsoon rain in central India leaves Delhi with no expectation of relief. 

Delhi weather Forecast: Tuesday, Wednesday To Remain Hottest Days Of Final Dry Spells

With weather officials anticipating the week to be the final dry spell in the national capital before the southwest monsoon hits the region, residents are expected to bear the brunt of it as Tuesday and Wednesday are likely to experience the hottest days, recording the maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature is expected to settle down in the day after that, with Friday and Saturday expected to record the highest temperatures of 39 and 38 degrees Celsius, respectively. The minimum temperature is likely to range between 28 and 27 degrees Celsius over the week.  delhiweatherforecast

Despite the rise in temperatures, no official heatwave warning or colour-coded alert has been issued for Delhi.

Delhi has so far recorded a comparatively cooler summer with unusual temperatures and the highest-ever May rainfall at 184.6mm.

Delhi Monsoon Forecast

The weather experts anticipate that the southwest monsoon will hit the national capital between June 12 to June 18 after the final round of dry spells in the coming week. Delhi normally receives monsoon showers by June 27. The monsoon usually covers the entire country by July 8, beginning from June end in most parts.
