The Police on Tuesday nabbed a man who killed a girl by pushing her off the fifth floor in Delhi’s Ashok Nagar. Neha had reportedly been troubled by Taufiq in recent days, as he was pressuring her to marry him, NDTV reported. When she refused to comply with his request, Taufiq planned her killing.
He reached Neha’s house disguised in a burqa on Monday and sneaked onto the terrace around 2:30 AM, hiding in the darkness to wait for the right moment.
Following his arrest from UP’s Rampur, Taufiq told the police that he and Neha were close friends and had been in regular contact. However, over the past few months, Neha had begun ignoring him and stopped speaking to him. He grew suspicious that she might be involved with someone else, which fueled his anger.
Neha’s family stated that she saw Taufiq as a brother and used to tie a rakhi to him every year.
Taufiq also revealed to the police that he wore a burqa to hide his identity. He did not want Neha’s family or neighbours to recognise him as he approached her house.
Neha’s father said he was busy with some work when he heard a noise upstairs. Rushing to the terrace, he saw Taufiq attacking Neha. Before he could intervene, Taufiq pushed Neha off the terrace. The father tried to stop him but was shoved to the ground by Taufiq, as per NDTV.
