Shubhanshu Shukla Axiom-4 Mission: India witnessed a historic moment today as Indian Air Force officer Shubhanshu Shukla took off to space as the pilot of Axiom Mission-4 at 12:01 PM. After 41 years, he became the second Indian ever to travel to space and the first to reach the International Space Station (ISS). The 14-day mission, a joint effort by NASA and Axiom Space, will include 60 science experiments, including seven from Indian researchers, focusing on microgravity and space tech.

As soon as the rocket lifted off, social media erupted with pride and emotion. From PM Narendra Modi to President Droupadi Murmu, leaders and citizens are sending heartfelt wishes. The internet is buzzing with messages like “A proud day for India” and “Wishing Shubhanshu all the best.”

Shukla’s inspiring journey began at just 16 when he joined the NDA, followed by a successful career as a combat pilot. He was chosen for ISRO’s astronaut programme in 2019 and trained in Russia’s Star City. In 2024, he was officially named by PM Modi as one of the astronauts for India’s Gaganyaan mission.
