Delhi IRS Officer's Daughter's Rape-Murder: The investigation into the alleged rape and murder of the IRS officer's 22-year-old daughter in southeast Delhi's Amar Colony has shifted its focus to how a former domestic help bypassed the four-layered security system.
The incident occurred on Wednesday morning while the victim's parents were at the gym. Hours later, police arrested 23-year-old Rahul Meena from a hotel in Dwarka. Meena, a native of Alwar, Rajasthan, had been dismissed from the household around six weeks ago after working at the house for nearly eight months, following allegations of financial irregularities.
How The Former House Help Bypassed a 4-Layered Security System?
Police believe that Meena used his knowledge of the house layout, access code and spare key locations to enter the residence on Wednesday morning while the victim's parents were at the gym. According to a report by India Today, the home has multiple security barriers, including restricted lift entry and locked access points on every floor.
To reach the victim, the suspect had to bypass four locks, three of which required passcodes. Investigators suspect that Meena knew these access codes and the locations of spare keys, which allowed him to enter the home without raising suspicion.
Suspect Rahul Meena Seen On CCTV
CCTV footage has surfaced that shows Meena entering the residential complex at approximately 6:28 AM wearing a yellow shirt and black pants. Nearly an hour later, at 7:22 AM, he was seen exiting the upscale Kailash Hills residence carrying a black backpack and wearing different clothes, white pants and what appeared to be a full-sleeve yellow T-shirt.
Police believe that Meena may have changed clothes after the crime and briefly stopped at a nearby park before fleeing.
IRS Officer Daughter Rape And Murder
The victim, an engineering graduate and UPSC aspirant, was alone at home when the incident occurred. When the couple returned home, they found their daughter lying in a pool of blood, with belongings scattered across parts of the house. Reports suggest that she was raped before being strangled, allegedly with a mobile phone charger cable. A case of rape, murder and robbery has been registered, and medical examination results are awaited.
