Delhi-Katra Expressway: The Haryana segment of the 669 km Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway has officially opened to traffic. Vehicles can now travel on the 135 km stretch from the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway to the Punjab border in Kaithal district. Meanwhile, construction continues on the Punjab portion of the expressway, which spans approximately 261 km.
Toll collection has commenced on the newly opened 135 km section in Haryana, featuring a total of eight toll barriers.

Toll Rates For Using KMP-Kaithal Section
Light motor vehicles, such as cars and jeeps, will incur a toll of Rs 240 for a one-way trip and Rs 360 for a round trip.
Light commercial vehicles will pay Rs 385 for one way and Rs 580 for both ways.
Two-axle buses and trucks will be charged Rs 805 for one way and Rs 1210 for a return journey
Three-axle commercial vehicles will be charged Rs 880 one way and Rs 1320 for both directions.
Similar to the KMP Expressway, vehicles will receive a slip at each entry point, and toll fees will be collected upon exit.
According to a News 18 report, the first toll barrier for the Delhi-Amritsar Expressway has been established near the KMP. Additional toll plazas are located on the Kharkhoda-sampla road, Rohtak-Kharkhoda road, Panipat-Rohtak road, Jind-Gohana-Sonipat road, Rajasthan-Panipat road, Karnal-Jind road and Kaithal-Narwana road. NHAI officials have stated that the construction of interchanges between the National and State Highways on the expressway is expected to be completed by March 2025.
Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway To Reduce Travel Time
Once fully operational, the Delhi-Katra Expressway is projected to reduce travel time significantly. Covering around 669 km, the journey from Delhi to Katra will take approximately six hours, allowing travellers to leave Delhi at 6 AM and arrive in Katra by noon. The expressway will also facilitate quicker access to Amritsar, with a travel time of just four hours from Delhi.
Delhi-Katra Expressway Routes
In addition to Katra and Amritsar, the expressway will provide easier access to cities such as Patiala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Gurdaspur. The route will connect through Jind, Sangrur, Malerkotla, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Gurdaspur, with the expressway splitting near Nakodar with one branch leading to Amritsar and the other directly to Katra.
