Delhi Liquor Case: In a major relief for former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and AAP leader Manish Sisodia, a Delhi Court on Friday discharged them in the Delhi excise policy case. While delivering the judgement, the Rouse Avenue Court stated that there was "no evidence" of any criminal conspiracy in the formulation of the excise policy by the then Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government.

The court also refused to take cognisance of the CBI chargesheet in a corruption case linked to the case. While discharging 21 others along with Kejriwal and Sisodia, it asserted that the chargesheet was not supported by evidence. "There was no overarching conspiracy or criminal intent in the excise policy," the Court asserted.

"There was no overarching conspiracy or criminal intent in the excise policy," the Court asserted. While reacting to the order, Arvind Kejriwal got emotional and asserted that the court's judgement has proved that he was framed in wrong charges, further accusing BJP of vendetta politics.

"Today, the court has discharged all accused in this case. We always said that the truth emerges victorious. We have full faith in the Indian legal system. Amit Shah and Modi ji together hatched the biggest political conspiracy to finish AAP and 5 big leaders of the party were put in jail," Kejriwal told the reporters.

"The sitting CM was dragged out of his house and put in jail. Kejriwal is not corrupt. I have only earned honesty in my life. Today, the court has said that Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and AAP are honest," he added. 

His wife Sunita Kejriwal, in a post on X, asserted that the judgement was a clear message for the "powerful people". "No matter how powerful someone becomes in this world, they cannot surpass the power of Shiva. Truth always prevails," she stated in her post.

While there has been no official response from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the central agency is likely to approach Delhi High Court, reported ANI, citing agency's sources. The CBI had alleged that Rs 100 crore was paid by a "south lobby" to influence the now-scrapped excise policy in its favour.
