Delhi Lok Sabha Election Date: Delhi will witness polling in the sixth phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha Election 2024. The voting will be held from 7 am till 5 pm on May 25, Saturday. The national capital is witnessing a two-cornered fight this year between INDIA bloc allies, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress, and the BJP. AAP is contesting the polls in alliance with the Congress this year, under a 3:4 seat-sharing formula. While the BJP is seeking votes on issues like Ram temple and corruption, AAP and Congress candidates have raked up local issues like traffic congestion, sewage problems and civic matters.
The AAP is contesting four Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, while Congress has fielded candidates in three Parliamentarian constituencies. Congress is contesting the polls on Chandni Chowk, North East Delhi and North West Delhi seats. The AAP, on the other hand, is contesting New Delhi, South Delhi, West Delhi, and East Delhi. The strategic partnership between AAP and Congress aims to consolidate their voter base against the formidable BJP, which won all seven seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha Election. The BJP, in a bold move, has introduced six new candidates. Only Manoj Tiwari is seeking re-election from the North East Delhi Lok Sabha seat.
