Delhi Rohini Fire: Two children die after a massive fire breaks out in the slums of Sector 17, Rohini, on Monday. Following the blaze, several gas cylinders exploded one after another destroying around 150 slums. Additionally, many nearby trees were scorched by the flames. Emergency services dispatched 18 fire brigade vehicles to the scene to combat the blaze.

Local residents expressed their frustration, claiming that the fire engines arrived late, leading some to vandalise a fire truck by breaking its windows. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Earlier the same day, a separate fire broke out at a four-storey shoe factory on Lawrence Road. This incident quickly spread to engulf two nearby factories. Fire officials received reports of the fire around 7:30 AM and initially sent five vehicles to the site. Given the scale of the fire, the response was escalated to 20 fire engines, including hydraulic cranes to tackle flames on the upper floors.

The rapid spread of the fire was attributed to the large stock of shoes and slippers stored in the factory. Although efforts to control the fire took around three hours, goods worth lakhs were destroyed. However, no employees were present at the time of the incident, and there have been no reported injuries.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of both fires, with police officials confirming that they have yet to determine what sparked these incidents.
