Notably, 80 per cent of the construction work of the 12.31 km long Majlis Park-Maujpur Metro Corridor under construction in Phase 4 of Delhi Metro has been completed. As per DMRC, this corridor will be fully ready by next year with complete metro operations ensuring public convenience.
Delhi Metro Phase 4: Length Of Three Corridors
The total length of the three corridors will be 65 km. Construction work is going on at a fast pace to complete the work of these three corridors of Phase 4 by the year 2026. The construction work in this phase started in December 2019.
Delhi Metro Phase 4: Work Affected By Corona
The construction work was affected for about two years during the Corona epidemic from March 2020 to February 2022. Apart from this, there was also a delay in getting approval for cutting trees. Overall, the construction work was affected for almost three years. However, the construction work on these corridors has been going on continuously for one and a half to two years now.
Construction of underground corridors is underway on the Tughlakabad- Aerocity and Janakpuri West- RK Ashram corridors. The underground network of about two and a half kilometres between Janakpuri West and Krishna Park Extension on the Janakpuri West- RK Ashram corridor is almost ready. Metro operations will start on this corridor by August.
Following this, metro operations will start in a phased manner on the remaining part of Phase 4.
