Delhi Metro Phase 4 Update: Delhi will soon have a 9-kilometre elevated corridor connecting Deepali Chowk and Majlis Park. The Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park stretch is part of the under-construction metro line between Janakpuri West and Ashram, under Phase 4 of the Delhi Metro.
The Deepali Chowk and Majlis Park stretch of the Delhi metro is likely to come into service soon, as the corridor nears completion and is already under trial.
The trial runs have recently started on this route after completing electrification and signal system work on the stretch. The route features 6 newly constructed stations, marking a significant milestone in the metro's infrastructure development.
Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park Corridor Launch Date
Metro services between Deepali Chowk and Majlis Park are expected to be operational by the end of December. This corridor features a state-of-the-art Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) signal system, ensuring efficient and safe travel.
Delhi Metro Phase 4: Magenta Line Extension
Currently, the 40.26-kilometre magenta line operates between the Botanical Garden and Janakpuri, featuring 26 stations, and is under extension.
The Janakpuri West-RK Ashram metro line, an extension of the Magenta Line, is under construction and will span 29.26 kilometres.
The Magenta Line currently operates from Botanical Garden to Krishna Park Extension, following the recent inauguration of the Janakpuri West to Krishna Park Extension section in January this year.
Krishna Park Extension To Dipali Chowk
The elevated corridor between Krishna Park Extension and Deepali Chowk is under construction and expected to be completed by June next year.
Deepali Chowk To Majlis Park Station
This section is ready and expected to be operational by the end of December, with six stations:
- Deepali Chowk
- Pitam Pura
- Prashant Vihar
- Uttari Pitam Pura
- Haiderpur Badli Mor
- Majlis Park
Three interchange stations will be available on the Deepali Chowk- Majlis Park route:
- Pitam Pura: Interchange with Red Line
- Haiderpur Badli Mor: Interchange with the Yellow Line
- Majlis Park: Interchange with Pink Line
How Magenta Line Extension Adds To DMRC Network
- Once the Dipali Chowk to Majlis Park section is operational, the Delhi Metro network will expand to over 415 kilometres.
- The Magenta Line is known for being India's first driverless metro
