Delhi Metro News: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will install optical fiber cables along all corridors of the Delhi Metro in the NCR to provide high-speed internet connectivity for passengers. Initially, this service will be launched on the Magenta Line (Botanical Garden to Krishna Park Extension) and the Pink Line (Shiv Vihar to Majlis Park).
Following this, the installation will be completed in phases across all other corridors within the next six months, ensuring seamless internet access throughout the metro system.

5G Network Access To Passengers
The optical fiber network is essential for enabling high-speed internet connectivity, which will provide 5G network access to passengers across the entire metro network in the NCR, including Delhi. This initiative aligns with the central government's vision of building a digitally connected nation.
This initiative will enable telecom companies to offer fast and reliable internet services, enhancing connectivity across Delhi. The metro network in the NCR, including Delhi, spans approximately 393 km, with internet connectivity issues being more prevalent in the underground corridors. However, the installation of optical fiber cables will significantly address and reduce these connectivity challenges.
